What a strut channel base plate does

Every leg of the structure needs a stable, square seat on the mounting surface. The base plate gives it one: a flat plate with anchor holes at the corners and a U-shaped holder with slotted holes, into which the 41×41 strut upright is bolted. The slots leave room to line up the leg before the bolts are tightened.

It is 2.5 mm GI sheet with a 50 µm zinc coat, and fits 41×41 strut and purlin sections.

Fixing it down

On an RCC roof or a concrete pedestal, the plate is fixed with anchor fasteners through its corner holes: wedge anchors in solid concrete, or rawl bolts in concrete and solid masonry. On waterproofed roofs, many installers cast small concrete pedestals and anchor into those, so the roof slab itself isn't drilled.

Keep the anchors well away from the edges of a pedestal, and check that every plate is level and in line before the uprights go in.
